Guinea Pigs Available for Adoption

Available For Adoption

Jacob Kowalski - The Great Tunneling No-Maj

Yes, that's a mouthful, but please meet Jacob Kowalski - or Jake for short! We have a lot of fun naming the piggies that come into rescue, and this little one's foster Mum was reading "Fantastic Beasts" when he arrived, so he has a very cool name!

This is a note from his foster Mum about Jacob:

We believe Jacob might be between 1-2 years of age. He was picked up from a pet store in October and was kept in a tiny cage on newspapers and pine bedding, with only a low quality pellet diet; he had no access to hay, veggies or toys and things to chew on. When he was brought home from the pet store, he was already at full size, which we is why we believe he may have been dropped off there by a previous family. Because of this, he is extremely shy and nervous of people, loud noises and bright light. It will take a lot of patience, time, and treats to get him to come out of his shell and show his true character, which he has already started to show in small bits - he already whistles at bags rustling, and will dive into his hay or play with his toys happily when he thinks you're not watching. He is the most comfortable sitting on your lap in the dark or dim light so this will probably be key to gaining his trust. He loves every single veggie I put in front of him, though he probably loves peppers the most!
